Father Daughter Milky Way Road Trip 2019

Father Daughter Milky Way Road Trip 2019

Road Trip 2019

We took a road trip earlier this year! My daughter and I decided to take a 4,000 mile drive around America. We knew we wanted to see a mix of historic sites, National Parks, and finally the Milky Way. I had taken a weekend trip to Idaho a few years back to visit Craters of the Moon National Monument. It was there where I first experienced truly dark skies and witnessed the Milky Way in all it’s glory. Thanks to a couple of easy to use app we were easily able to plan out our week on the road. First, we used Roadtrippers to plan our stops and our routes.

Once we had our route planned, we knew we wanted to sleep in our Tepui a few nights and stay in a few hotels along the way as well. So, we used Hipcamp (hit that link for $10 off your first booking) to find a few amazing camp sites along the way. While we did use our Tepui roof top tent, we also stayed at a few nice hotels. One hotel in particular was the Alex Johnson Hotel, which may or may not be haunted! Check out some photos from our week below.

On top of some great photos of the Milky Way, we vlogged all along the way, so check those videos out below! If road trip vlogs aren’t your style, maybe check out this nature video from Radnor Lake State Park instead.
